If you don’t think that Anderson.Paak’s Malibu was one of the greatest albums of 2016 you might as well leave right now because that’s not a debatable point. A huge part of what made Malibu awesome was the backing band, Free Nationals, who are now coming into their own with new material and a debut album due out next year. The self-titled record is set to feature Kali Uchis and the late Mac Miller, plus the first single with Daniel Caesar and Unknown Mortal Orchestra.
Watch the video for “Beauty & Essex,” which includes a cute girl covered in yellow balloons, the band performing under a giant plastic sheet, and a cameo by Paak himself.
