October is my favorite month in the Bay Area, because it feels like real summer actually happens and there are lots of cool things going on. Treasure Island Music Festival is this weekend, and I’m psyched to get into the festival feeling in a setting that’s a little more low key than the bigger events that it takes stamina to attend.
I love that the set times at TMIF are staggered so you can actually see every performer, and in between there’s supposed to be a pop-up record store and DIY-station to make party paraphernalia like flower crowns and Shibori-dyed bandanas.
I get to go on Sunday, when the line-up is the chill counterpart to Saturday’s straight-up party vibes. In preparation, I’ve made a playlist of the acts I’m most excited to see. Take a listen, and let’s imagine ourselves there.
